Keeps a gluten free bread for sandwiches that is the best I have had! Also keeps a selection of g/f pastries that will challenge your diet with really decent deserts. The deserts are a little expensive but worth the splurge for a treat that will make you gld you did. Toppings are included with snadwich selections like pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, onions (real fine slices) etc.. This woman knows and understands how to make a gluten free sandwich this will delight any celiac or wheat avoider person. Always a smile and good friendly humour along with such a quaint atmosphere generated in this cozy place. Too bad supper isn't available as I would definitely impress guests visiting from the big cities, here. Coffee? All the fancy varieties in a huge mug! We finally made a return visit to this charming little restaurant. We were not disappointed! We all enjoyed our choices from the new menu. My ribs were excellent -juicy, tender, meaty, tasty. Mostly excellent food here. Had one bad lunch where we were not impressed with the food taste on a few items. Off day? The other dozen visits food was excellent! Recommend the feta and spinach frittata! The included fruit tidbits are typically really fresh and tasty too. Service is good, friendly and fairly quick food delivery. I've eaten here many times since moving to the area and have introduced several friends to it now too. It's a small little place with a hockey theme. The booths are kind of small and can be a little claustrophobic, but there are tables out in the open area as well. The food is usually really good. I recommend their nachos. These are not your usual nachos, but are made with cross-cut potatoes with your nacho fixings on top (beef, jalapenos, cheese, olives, peppers). If you're not a big eater, just have this appetizer and you'll be full. The salads are fresh and there are usually some creative things on the specials board. Soups are good and homemade. And if you're a hockey fan, you might run into a few of the Owen Sound Attack on occasion too. Lire plus

I spend most weekends in Collingwood. I've eaten in many restaurants in the area, but haven't been to the Post in a while. The last time I was there was under the old ownership and couldn't believe how bland the food was, and how dirty and unkept the restaurant was. I counted no less than 5 dead flies on the window sills. I previously had the baked penne carbonara and it had no flavour. The waiter told me they used 2 % milk instead of cream ! I heard there were new owners and decided to give it a try last week with my husband and two friends. The place was spotless (and no dead flies !), service incredible and one of the best meals we've all had in a while. We especially loved the curry and halibut & chips, and pasta. Amazing desserts ! My husband and I were recently at the Mill Cafe for lunch with a few friends from out of town. We have been local to the area, but had not been in since the restaurant was renovated. The decor was delightful and vibrant, with unique artwork covering the walls. We were pleasantly greeted by our server who encouraged us to sit wherever we pleased. The menu was fun and fresh and we found it extremely difficult to have to choose from all the delicious items. Our lunch arrived very quickly, and we were more and more pleased with every bite. IT WAS EXTRAORDINARY! We felt very welcomed by both serving and kitchen staff (as this is an open concept restaurant) and we will gladly be back again! ... and again! Lire plus

There aren't many places in the area where one can get fish & chips, unless they drive to Barrie and go to Fancies Fish & Chips. Blue Water Fish & Chips is a small restaurant with a tired decor. Mind you there are historical photos of boats that have travelled Georgian Bay & the Great Lakes and are interesting to look at.. We love the halibut served here. While the portion size is small it is extremely tasty, with mild tasting halibut and a golden batter. After the second or third bite you can taste & feel the grease but isn't that to be expected with deep fried fish? I've never eaten fish & chips that I haven't tasted the grease. We hate it when the restaurant is closed for vacation. We love eating here and they even have lots of newspapers and reading material for those of us that prefer to read while we're eating. All we've ever ordered has been the fish & small chips or else we'll order 2 fish and a small chip each and we never go away hungry. Lire plus

We dined at the Siamese Gecko last evening for our anniversary. The menu had plenty of options, you could choose from curries, stir frys, and soups. After each meal title, there is a ranking of how spicy the dish is starting at not spicy going up to very, very spicy. I chose item 25-2 (sorry, the name escapes me) because it was under the very, very spicy and it certainly was. Even with my tongue on fire, there was an amazing amount of flavour. It was served on a platter with chicken, green beans, sweet red pepper, Thai basil, kaffir lime and crushed hot peppers. My wife had a squash curry that was delightfully creamy and the squash melted in your mouth. It was a non spicy dish with some sweetness in it and again, plenty of flavour. The prices are excellent, most dishes range from 9.99 to 11.99 and we both brought home half of our dinners. Meals do not come with rice or noodles, they are extra. However it was only 1.99 for a bowl of rice that was more than adequate and the whole cost of the meal was very affordable. Service was adequate, the restaurant was clean including washrooms. I just wanted to share my wonderful experience that my husband and daughter and I had at the European Bakery. We had a great lunch , the service was exceptional, the server was so nice to us. It was very busy ,but we had our lunch in no time. The soup was a home made and the ruebans amazing. I was so impressed that they offered a great Gluten-Free menu Breakfast and lunch as my Daughter has celiac disease it made our dining experience so much better.to top it off the atmosphere was really nice, everyone was very happy! we ended up taking dessert to go, as well as a gluten free dessert for my daughter!also buying a loaf of fresh bread.
