I'll try to keep this short and sweet (like my wife ha) but we will definitely, 100% be returning to this place. We were in recently and the staff were so nice. We made a day of it and took it all to the lake and it was so nice to be able to enjoy such nice foods. I'd just butcher the pronounciations and whatnot, but suffice to say, you should order a lot of the extras that they have, in addition to the roti, which itself is amazing. The goat was soft and tender, but gamey too. If you're not a real meat-enthusiast, you may wanna steer clear of goat and get something more pallette friendly, like chiken or the chickpea roti. The doubles, oh the doubles! A double, from the best I can tell, is like this little chickpea-dough crepe, that is filled with refried beans and then the whole shebang is deep fried. Yeah, it's pretty much heaven. It comes with this hot sauce that really cuts to your core, so be careful. You'll sweat, but as us chiliheads admit, that's what you want. There's also pholourie, which is like a timbit, but made of a lightly-spiced chickpea dough, and it's a really nice, chewie snack that is just amazing. Well, as you can tell, I'm getting hungry writing this, so I should probably stop. Regardless of that, you should definitely check this place out. Keeps a gluten free bread for sandwiches that is the best I have had! Also keeps a selection of g/f pastries that will challenge your diet with really decent deserts. The deserts are a little expensive but worth the splurge for a treat that will make you gld you did. Toppings are included with snadwich selections like pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, onions (real fine slices) etc.. This woman knows and understands how to make a gluten free sandwich this will delight any celiac or wheat avoider person. Always a smile and good friendly humour along with such a quaint atmosphere generated in this cozy place. Too bad supper isn't available as I would definitely impress guests visiting from the big cities, here. Coffee? All the fancy varieties in a huge mug! I visited Sgt. Pepper's in AJAX this weekend with my husband and after reading the reviews I was really worried. WOW, were we surprised! Perhaps there were changes made since the last reviews were posted: we had a friendly server who was very attentive throughout our meal, brought drinks quickly and was able to remember everything about our order and that of another table's without writing anything down. We had the Calamari, Veggie Samosas, Burger with Fries and Steak Sandwhich with Peppercorn sauce. The calamari was lightly breaded and crispy without being oily, my samosas while not authentically "indian" had a really nice potato and veggie filling, served with sweet chili sauce. My husband said his burger and fries were really good. I think a good test of a kitchen is how they handle something like a steak sandwhich. Mine was not the run of the mill piece of shoe leather I've had at other places. This was a tender juicy piece of beef that was actually cooked how I'd asked for it, served on a not-too-garlicky ciabatta bun and the fries were great. I'm not sure what people expect out of the decor of your average burger join, but the booths were fine and the whole restaurant and both bathrooms were really clean. Overall, I'd say that this was a really good experience and I'm sure both my husband and I will return to this location. Lire plus

I've eaten here many times since moving to the area and have introduced several friends to it now too. It's a small little place with a hockey theme. The booths are kind of small and can be a little claustrophobic, but there are tables out in the open area as well. The food is usually really good. I recommend their nachos. These are not your usual nachos, but are made with cross-cut potatoes with your nacho fixings on top (beef, jalapenos, cheese, olives, peppers). If you're not a big eater, just have this appetizer and you'll be full. The salads are fresh and there are usually some creative things on the specials board. Soups are good and homemade. And if you're a hockey fan, you might run into a few of the Owen Sound Attack on occasion too. Lire plus

Local pub with small-town feel but a huge atmosphere. Well priced, diverse soul food menu, friendly staff, cottage-rustic vibe and a nice selection of beer. We went on Wednesday Wing night and it was packed by 5:30 with a short line-up to get in. They had a table for us right away in a nice location. One of us wanted wings and asked if there were any dry-rubbed flavours, as there didn't appear to be any on the menu. To our delight they had a dry Cajun flavour that was excellent. Wings themselves were large and meaty and the vegetables that came with them were just enough and freshly cut. All of which was served with a generous stack of napkins and wet-wipes. The other ordered the aptly named "Long-Weekend Burger" complete with cheddar & Swiss, sautéed mushrooms & caramelized onions and opted for sweet-potato fries as a side for an additional cost. (I don't know about you, but whenever there's a "long-weekend" in my circle there's always bacon involved ~ but they had another burger with some on it) The burger itself was huge, juicy, and did not have a lot of added flavouring allowing the true taste of the beef to come through. This allowed the flavour to be somewhat customized with the good selection of condiments delivered to the table. Freshly cut tomatoes & red onion topped it under a nice Kaiser roll. Sweet potato fries were plentiful, crisp, long and lightly dusted with sea salt to be complimented by white or malt vinegar and/or their own house dip. Beers were served in a frosted glass, which compelled us to have more than one ~ otherwise this would be in the $11-25 range! Bathrooms were clean and adequate. House was well-kept. The only gripe we had was the dim lighting which made it hard to read the Trivial Pursuit cards at each table (which were a very nice touch, even though they were obviously an older US edition!) It's rare to have a great dining experience in such a packed house. Overall this was a great meal and it will likely become a default destination if we can't decide where else to try. Lire plus

I have visited many Chinese style restaurants in Oshawa and Whitby and I have to say that I was not expecting this degree of quality and freshness from a fast food place. I would have never ordered from here because I always like to take a look at the menu before I get delivery (which I could not find online) but because of location I decided to give it a try, I mean it's only $30-40 after taxes for their specials so no big deal. When I got my first delivery I was shocked of how much food their was and how tasty it was. Not too greasy, spiced and prepped perfectly, warm, timely, and friendly service. For the price, and for how good the food is, I have no idea what these other reviews are talking about, it's most likely the competition. Lire plus
